Floyd County High School’s Lady Buffaloes took care of business in Radford Wednesday night, defeating the Lady Bobcats 73-42, with Ragan Wiseman scoring 23 points and Michaela Thompson adding another 10 points in the rout.
The Junior Varsity game was closer, 44-41.
The varsity Lady Buffs took control of the game from the beginning, leading 20-9 at the end of the first quarter and 37-16 at the half. The Bobcats closed a little in the third quarter, going into the final period still training 48-32 and the Lady Buffaloes outscored Radford 25-10 in the fourth quarter.
A visit from the boys’ side of Radford to Floyd on Tuesday night bought a different result with the male Bobcats taking the Buffaloes 67-50 wit Australian exchange student Blake Burdack scoring 24 points. The JV boys finished in a tie in regular time but Radford then pulled it out 46-42 for the final.
