
Floyd County High School’s Varsity Buffalo football team played Glenvar tough and to a 21-21 tie in the fourth quarter until 8:47 left in the game when a third rushing touchdown by the Highlanders’ Jack Leonard put the game away from the undefeated Three Rivers District Champions.
The Highlanders stopped the Buffaloes on a fourth and one and then scored the winning touchdown and went on to beat Floyd 33-21. Glenvar heads to the state playoffs as the number six seed. The Buffaloes playoff game and location will be announced Saturday.
The Buffaloes end the regular season with a 6-4 overall record and 2-2 in the district.
