Floyd County High School’s football Buffaloes closed out the regular season Friday with a key 22-7 district win over the Alleghany Mountaineers on the road.
Floyd scored first with a short run by Presley Yates and point after by Gonzalo Lopez in the opening quarter, followed by a fumble recovery in the second quarter by Jarrett Agee to lead 13-7 at the half.
A 43-yard run by Agee added another score in the third and another fumble recovery in the Mountaineer end zone added a safety in the final quarter for the 22 points.
The Buffaloes rushed to 265 yards in a win that should give Floyd a home field game in regional play. The Buffaloes end the regular season with an 8-2 overall and 4-2 district record.
