Weather advisory for late Friday and early Saturday

Freezing temperatures are expected to bring icy precipitation to the area tonight and into Saturday with slick roads and dangerous travel conditions beginning late Friday and into the next day.

Planning to go somewhere tonight?  You might want to reconsider if you expect to be out late.  Light freezing rain is expected in Christiansburg Roanoke by midnight.

…Wintry mix expected late tonight into Saturday morning… .A warm front will overrun a shallow cold air mass and produce a period of sleet and freezing rain late tonight and into Saturday morning. As surface temperatures gradually warm above freezing Saturday morning, mixed precipitation will change to all rain.
