Floyd County’s football Buffaloes extended their perfect season Friday in Stuart, beating Patrick County 21-14 and takes on Martinsville next week.

The Buffs put up a quick lead with an opening kickoff return for a TD, followed by another TD for a 14-0 lead. Patrick scored for seven points and tried for a tie, but the Buffs recovered a fumble and stropped the drive.

The Buffs added two more TDs and Patrick scored one. Floyd’s 21-14 win puts their record at 5-0.

After the road match against Martinsville this coming Friday, the Buffaloes return home to face Carroll County on Oct. 17. Game time is 7:00 pm. With luck, I will be back on the side lines taking photos for our paper.
