I was fortunate to cover FloydFest for most of its early summer concert series from 2005 to 2016 before age and hobbled legs made it difficult to cover the the sprawling venue that included parts of Floyd and Patrick County just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. I shot thousands of photos and a lot of video there.

The summer festival moved to a new Floyd County location in 2023, but it the steep hills at the new location between Check and Copper Hill are hills I cannot reach as a 78.-year-old with bad legs. Colleen Redman has done a great job for The Floyd Press and her website, Loose Leaf Notes.

The video above is a compilation of FloydFests that I covered and I hope to produce some more memories that document the decade I spent at the festival.
