At the Friday Night Jamboree, Josh Blankenship kicks off the evening on the stage of the Floyd Country Store with the Gospel Hour at 6:30 p.m., followed by The Big Throwdown String Band, with two sets, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Light rain forecast to begin around 4 p.m. night put a damper on the street music on Locust Street but the rain could miss us, as it has with other forecasts this week.
As we move past mid-July, we will have the second Small Town Thursday event at Lineberry Park, featuring Jstop Latin Soul and The Robert Jospe Quartet on July 16 and the start of FloydFest, starting a four-day run on July 22.
The Replenish Festival, a religious gathering, opens at noon Saturday and continues through 6 p..m. at Bennett Farm, 5430 Indian Valley Road, Willis. It features music, games, crafts and food.
I hope to post more info events on Monday and then on Mondays for the rest of the summer and into the fall.
I hope this is the last Friday where I need to stay off my feet, which means no way to attend the Friday Night Jamboree or other events this weekend. With luck, and continued improvement in my recovery, I should be cleared to get out no later than Wednesday of next week, if my heart is willing.
My apologies to readers who, I’m sure, tired of my slew of articles about my health. Writing something is part of the recovery. I do a daily column on our political news website and I try to do updates, as often as I can. I hope to start doing more, staring on July 15.
