For a while in the first set of a home match against the James River Knights the Floyd County High School varsity volleyball team looked like they would win by a large margin, leading 20-10. But the Knights scored a series of unanswered points to close the match to 20 all before the two teams swapped goals until James River won 25-23.

Then the Knights won the next two sets to shut out the Lady Buffs 3-0, putting the FCHS team 2-7 for the season so far.

The game provided a lot of chances for photos as I returned to shooting images.

The lady Buffs go on the road for games against Radford on Thursday and Glenvar next Tuesday. They won’t return home until October.

See you on Friday for the Buffalo varsity football match against Fort Chiswell at Coach Beale Field at 7 p.m.
