The outstretched hands of the official signaling yet another touchdown by the Floyd County High School Buffaloes became a regular sight Friday night as the team demolished Auburn 42-6 before a homecoming crowd.
All of the team’s touchdowns came in the first half and the Buffs went into the locker room at half time leading 42-0. Coach Winifred Beale rested his starters for the second half but backups held Auburn to just six points.
The victory is a convincing bounce back from a heartbreaking 21-20 loss to Fort Chiswell two weeks ago and the Buffs looked sharp on both offense and defense as they stopped Auburn time and again.
