An increase of 3,135 in Virginia includes seven new ones in Floyd County, 37 in Montgomery, 34 in Franklin, and more than 200 in Roanoke city/county and Salem.

Montgomery-Radford has two as did Roanoke City plus others in Franklin, Carroll and Patrick Counties plus the city of Galax.

Friday’s report adds 142 additional hospitalizations and 27 deaths, including new ones in Franklin and Roanoke counties.

New infections soar to 3,074 — 62 in Roanoke County, 38 in Roanoke City, 31 in Franklin County, 27 in Montgomery, 20 in Pulaski, 19 in Carroll 13 in Floyd and 12 in Patrick.

Virginia statewide cases: 988,147 total with 45 new infections in Franklin County, 32 in Montgomery, plus 16 each in Carroll and Floyd counties.

With a total of 985,296 total infections since pandemic began, the Old Dominion is less than 15,000 cases from 1 million.

Roanoke City added 123, Roanoke County 87, Franklin County 81. Salem 71, Carroll County 43, Pulaski County 36, Montgomery 48, Radford 33, Patrick 31, and Floyd 23.

Daily increase of 2,598 new cases is highest this week. The 12 additional new deaths include one in Franklin County.
