Drove back to the county Sunday. Left late so we had to take I-81 with our mini-caravan of two Wrangers (my 2000 and Amy’s new-old ’95 which is destined to become the designated farm vehicle). I had satellite radio installed in both before we left so we could listen to the Golden Corral 500 Nextel Cup Race in Atlanta for most of the drive.
Call me crazy but a construction crane against a cold winter sky is a lonely sight. Note really sure why but whenever I see one, I think of loneliness.
Freud would probably have a field day with such an observation.
“Tell me, Mr. Thompson, just exactly when did you start seeing loneliness in inanimate objects.”
“Not really, sure, doc. I think it goes back to my childhood when I would see a toy all by itself in a corner. It just looked so sad.”
Oh, forget it.
